Michel, a trendy restaurateur and well over 40 is struggling to accept his wife leaving him for a little-known artist. One winter night while driving on the highway he picks up Oksana, a tear-stained girl carrying a bag and a suitcase, who has obviously been thrown out of her home. It occurs to Michel that this may be an omen and this sweet and defenceless girl could be his long-awaited piece of heaven for the sufferings he endured in his family life. However, it quickly appears that Michel's former wife Tetyana, Oksana, her younger sister Olya and their boyfriends are interconnected by the most unexpected of circumstances and are compelled to live practically in the same apartment. All of them are desperately fighting for happiness, using any means available to them: tenderness, sincerity, tears, threats and cruelty.
